Scott Steepleton makes news for charity efforts.
Being a professional handyman is my dream job. Not only do I enjoy the variety of work & taking great care of my members (customers), but I value being able to balance time on the job with the needs of my family. Prior to my role as a fulltime handyman, I was in the hardwood flooring business for 20 years. My skills as a finish carpenter were what set me apart.
When I am invited to a member’s home, my first priority is meeting the member’s needs. Whatever the job or project, I involve the member in the process & give them as many options as possible to work within their budget.
Sheetrock & drywall repairs are some of my favorite tasks. I like getting the patch smoothed out just right and the texture matched so the hole disappears. I often do odd jobs like leaks, squeaks & general maintenance such as gutter cleaning. I am a licensed, bonded, & insured contractor so I can take care of kitchen & bath renovations as well.
The most common request I receive is for the installation of sinks & faucets. The most interesting request I’ve received was the addition of mirrors to the exterior of a member’s home to scare crows. Over the years I’ve refined my ability to do just about anything including: plumbing & electrical work, application of caulk & weatherstripping, building decks & fences, painting & trim installation, & replacement of hot water heaters.
I provide 24 hour service & am a water damage specialist. Nature is no match for my determination, ability, and desire to restore property to its original condition.
There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that a member was so impressed by my work & professionalism that they recommended me to a friend or relative. It’s like sinking a 30 foot putt.

Live Member Feedback:
- The work order included patching and painting and the technician did not have paint items, such as rollers and paint container, therefore i went to the store to purchase these items, had i known these were items to be provided i could purchased them prior to the appt date. Having recently moved into the state and still in the status of unpacking this was not convienent. When patching walls it is my expectations for the area to be cleaned prior to painting, this was not done. After the wall was painted, i cleaned the area including removing paint from the molding and from the tile floor. One of the areas which was painted, is unacceptable and requires repainting. Electrical switches were installed and following the appt i cleaned up wiring and old switches, etc.
Response: Linda,
I so sorry for any inconvience I caused by not bringing my painting supplies, I was coming from another job near my home and had planned to stop at home and pick up my painting box prior to heading for your home got distracted and forgot. Please understand there is no way for me to always have all my tools in my Van at all times as that would really cause a issue trying to locate and keep track of all my tools. I did tell you I would run to Home Depot at no charge and you said you were going anyway. I was unaware of any drips and I'm sorry for any mess. I guess we had a misscommunication as to the switches I thought you had said not to worry as you would pick up, many of my customers want to do that so they are not paying my rate for cleanup. I try to provide a quality service and truly give my customers a fair and honest value.
I've sent you a gift card and hope you will give me another try. Scott Steepleton

Response: Linda,
It is always a pleasure working with you and makes me sad to get to the end of the job. The great thing about this job is I get to make some truly wonderful friends.
yours truly,
Scott
- Scott was wonderful! I really only had one task in mind but gave him a list of five things to do in case he had time, and to my pleasant surprise, he completed all five! He did very nice, detailed work and cleaned up after himself. I had so many tasks around the house that needed to be done that I either didn't know how to do do or lacked the proper tools to do and with one phone call I got all of them done in 2 hours time! So worth it, I will definitley call again.
Response: Thanks for the opportunity to work with you. It always surprises people when they see how much I can get done in 2 hrs. My goal is to give you a real value for the money.
- Perfectly executed job!
Response: Thanks Linda, and thanks for the referall for the stair job, it was a great challenge and alot of fun.

- Please let Scott know that I belong to a group email account with several hundred neighbors. This is the email I just sent out to all neighbors in Burien that are on the email group:
OK, I admit it, I am a kltuz when it comes to Dagwood duties around the house or the office. Pam has been very patient with me but finally the other day I think the limit was reached. Two toilets had problems, a light fixture was loose and wouldn't work, another fixture was hanging from the ceiling and out Insta Hot water unit was veering badly to the right and had a big crack in it.
Off I went to work and discovered two leaky faucets and that the guys installing our sprinkler system needed an electrical outlet.
I started by phoning a plumber and an electrician......... rough estimates over the phone left me feeling woozy so thought I would escape and go have lunch. As I drove down 152nd I saw the Yellow Van Handyman van in front of 1800 SW 152nd so I screeched to a halt and marched in with my laundry list.
I could go on an on but will just cut to the chase. Scott the owner arrived at my office in a couple of hours and provided an estimate for both the office and the house. He showed up the next morning on time with materials only to have us discover that the sprinkler installers had figured out a way to get electricity so did not need Scott to do the work.
I don't know about all your past experiences but my guess was I was going to have to pull out the checkbook and write a check for nothing. Scott replied that it was no problem and proceeded to do the other work at the office as well as get everything done at the house. He even noticed a couple other problems at the house and promptly fixed those issues too.
In summary the work was good, I got what I was promised, he lives and works in Burien and will be our GO TO guy from now on. I will say that at first I was concerned about how much this was all going to cost because he charges an hourly rate and it is tough to say exactly how long home repair projects will take. We got the whole thing done for about the amount that the plumber wanted to start his rig and drive over and have a look.
Scott says he can do about anything and has also done several bathroom and kitchen remodel projects.
