About Me:

I consider myself a true professional & strive to associate the handyman services I offer with a new standard of quality. In many ways, I am able to do this because of the tools that Yellow VAN Handyman provides me, such as my online calendar for scheduling appointments & my ability to process debit & credit card payments securely. All of these tools help me serve my members (customers) with a high degree of consistency & excellence.

Prior to owning my handyman business, I worked for over 25 years in the manufacturing, engineering, & construction industries, as a maintenance electrician. I was exposed to many different trade skills, such as welding, carpentry, plumbing, instrumentation, power electronics, mechanics & rigging.

I hope to be the person that my members feel they can trust & rely on to handle their home maintenance & repair needs. I want them to worry less about their projects & worry more about what is important in their lives.

Almost every type of project is a favourite of mine, from cleaning gutters & roof maintenance to electrical & small plumbing jobs. My most unusual request was to repair an old, solid wood, French-style double door. The member did not want to replace the door, as it was unique & not in production anymore, so I took the extra time & care to return it to its original beauty.

I can repair faulty electrical outlets, install new light fixtures, refinish kitchen cabinets, & patch drywall holes. Inside the kitchen, I can repair or replace your sink or garburator. In your bathroom, I can re-caulk bathtubs & fix leaky faucets. Throughout the interior of a home I can fix squeaking doors, paint, & maintain hot water heaters. On the exterior of a home I can tackle projects like: landscaping, gutters, painting, weatherizing decks, fence work, & building sheds.

When a member refers me to their friends or family I feel a huge amount of gratitude, as this means they must have really appreciated my service & workmanship.

  • Franschwa did good work for us, some renovations in our rental suite. He installed a new pre-hung door, some tile work, minor electrical and suspended ceiling. Great communication. The job was quoted for 2 days but actualy took 4. Price was fair and workmanship was good. I'd hire him again for future renovations/projects. Thanks for improving our home.

  • I know the industry does not worry about being on time but call. We can understand holdups, jobs that run over but phone to keep us updated. When placing tools, bags, equipment etc. on hardwood floor, use plastic or a blanket to prevent scratches.

  • It took me almost 4 months to get the panel upgraded and the electricity connected again. The original quote was exceeded by a large margin, because the original quote did not include everything that was needed. I will never recommend your services to anyone.

    Response: I am sad to hear that Joe was not satisfied with my service. Unfortunately there were unforeseen factors involved. Issues I had to deal with were waiting for permit approval and scheduling the service date with the tenants, the property manager, and communication between the local municipality, BC Hydro, and me. Hence, was not and easy task with the home owner (Joe) living in another province and BC Hydro required additional work to be done before power could be re-connected. At the end the job was done by the time the tenants moved in. Under the circumstances I feel I did my best to get the job done for this customer.

  • The timely questions is tricky. the appointment was for Saturday. No one showed up. Franscio did call Sunday evening and arranged to come on Monday. I took the day off from work. He again called when he realized he was going to be late. The only reason why I'm giving "middle of the road" ratings is because of the no show on Saturday without any call from Home Task to explain the problem. the handyman was great.
