About Me:

As a professional handyman I am extremely excited to get out and develop strong working relationships with my members (customers). I will delight in the fact that I have 100% control over my member’s satisfaction. Because I am my own boss, I can always be available to my members while still spending time with my family.

Before becoming a Yellow VAN Handyman, I went to school and received my Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. I believe that the knowledge that I acquired in school will help me to run a very successful business with many loyal, satisfied members.

I want to ease the stress of home repair for my members. We all have enough things to think about and stress over, I want to be able to take the stress of home repairs off my member’s plates.

Although I can, and will do almost any task presented to me, my favorite repair projects are any that require woodworking. I enjoy watching the transformation that happens when working with wood.

I am a licensed, bonded and insured general contractor, so whether the service you need is on the interior or the exterior of your home, I am your one stop shop. The most common repair that I am asked to do is plumbing leaks and drywall patching as well as other minor household repairs. Shortly before becoming a Yellow VAN Handyman I received a very unusual request. I was asked to sculpt and weld a stainless steel, decorative chicken. I have also been asked to resurface a bathtub.

It is very humbling to know that a member appreciates and admires me and the work I do by inviting me into their home to help with their projects. It is even more humbling when they show their appreciation by referring my services to their friends and family. This shows me that they trust me and the work that I do.

  • I have written numerous emails to the company in complaint about this work order. My first consult with Josh was April 20th-seemed knowledgeable, appropriate, came recommended, etc. Scheduled to do work May 1st-notified me via email that he had a family death inadvance and would reschedule when he returned. We rescheduled for May 8th at 10am; Josh emailed me the morning of at 7:50-no phone call-to let me know that the concrete saw was unavailable and could come out that evening. Did not leave a contact number. I canceled my evening plans, called home depot at 10am and they had the tool needed. I emailed Josh to let him know that I wanted it done that evening. No response to either email. Waited all evening until dusk and no word from him-AFTER I had dug up an established bed of plants to place the french drain under. Sent the company and email with my complaint, specific concerns and instructions. Josh called the next day, arranged to come Wed.May12th while I was at work. Reviewed the depth to dig for the drain, placement and size of grate needed, rental, etc. Stopped by at lunch to check on him and progress. Drain was smaller than we had discussed , but was told "it can handle the water amount", reviewed drain depth and went back to work. Came home. everything looked okay, drain was a little further over to the side on the walkway than where I had wanted it, but I assumed Josh knew what he was doing. When I attempted to replant the bushes that Sunday, I could hardly dig b/c the drain tubing was buried so shallow and not to the depth specified. I called his cell phone and expressed my displeasure in the work the had done and that it needed to be fixed. He did not call back. I sent an email Sunday evening expressing my dissatisfaction with the work performed and heard nothing back. The following day, Monday, Durham received record amount of thunderstorms with flash floods. The drain was not working and my house came very close to being flooded based on the amount of water that rose infront of my door. I took pictures and texted Josh that he needed to call asap and fix this; I called the Seattle HQ and demanded the regional owner contact me-Mike and didn't hear back from him. Josh contacted me and was at my house promptly at 8am the following day with Mike. I had my realtor present to assess the drain issues. Josh and Mike came up with a plan, and Josh came out May 12th to redo the job (I took the day off to be at home). The level of work he did that time to fix the draining problems was impressive and well done. I was very pleased with it and the next day we had a flash flood again and the drain worked. Josh , I feel does good work, but shouldn't have to go through as many frustrating mishaps to get a job done and could communicate in a more timely manner and directly with his clients, rather than via emails. It should be clear at the end of a job where/how/whom to send a payment to.

  • I have a lot of small jobs where it is had to find someone to do this work. It is really great to find a worker that is willing to take on what ever is needed and to do a good job.

Response: Thank you for letting me take care of the little things around you house to make it a more comfortable home.

  • Josh was prompt, was able to accommodate our schedule and fixed our issue in a reasonable amount of time. He was professional and offered expert information on the issue and what was needed to fix it.

Response: Thank you, Charles. I am happy that I was able to fix the leak for you.
